Thousands of high school and university students across the globe, including those in Australia's capital cities and major regional centres, heeded the call to #Strike4Climate on Friday, March 15.
They demanded urgent political action on climate change and, in doing so, defied the critics and authorities who said they should have stayed in school.
Co-organiser of the Sydney rally, Grace Vegesana, is among all the university students who took part, who are also about to vote for the first time in a State and Federal election.
She told Central News' Alex Turner-Cohen and Jacinta Neal, that young people are just trying to find that intersection between being angry - and unbelievably sad.
