A woman has escaped serious injury after the front wheels of her car went over the edge of the third floor of a southern Sydney shopping centre car park with a steel guardrail saving her from a potential 10 metre fall.
The 40-year-old woman suffered minor injuries when the airbag discharged in the incident at Westfield Miranda at about 11.30am on Wednesday.
Shoppers below saw her vehicle's wheels hanging over the edge of the car park and emergency services were called with the woman taken to Sutherland Hospital in a stable condition.
"This patient is very lucky to have only minor injuries," NSW Ambulance spokesman Giles Buchanan said in a statement.
"Had the car crashed through the guardrail completely, we could have been looking at a far more serious outcome."
