Sydney detectives have released descriptions of a man and woman they wish to speak to following the death of a man on a city street on Friday.
They say the bleach-blonde Caucasian female and male in his late 20s can possibly assist them as they investigate how the 30-year-old victim came to stagger into the road at inner city Forest Lodge covered in blood, collapse and die.
The woman is said to be thin and aged in her early 20s, has dark-coloured hair roots and was last seen wearing a black singlet and maroon three-quarter pants.
The man being urged to speak to police is also Caucasian, has short brown hair and is of medium build.
The dead man is yet to be formally identified. He was found with a serious head injury and had been involved in an "altercation" with another man and a woman who fled the scene, Acting Superintendent Sam Crisafulli told reporters on Friday.
Witnesses told of the victim bleeding profusely from the head as he staggered down a nearby street.
Police seized a firearm and weapons but no shots were fired. The items will be forensically examined.
They said they couldn't rule in or out a gun or a samurai sword being used in the attack.
